A world of "Comfort"

Comfort – A word which I closely seen in mirage along with happiness and essence of life, sometimes :)

And before I could engulf in this word as my alter-ego, I had this article in my inbox to read!!
Allow me to admit please, directly-indirectly, exposure to any such blog is like a dominance check of my heart over my mind, which till this age, I have challenged and avoided to an extent.

From Beyond Limits:

Somewhere down the lane, I knew, to infiltrate my nest of comfort, to get me out of that and to respin my dreams & its sensations, is a big required leap for me at this junction of life! A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval. So finally after some tussle between hesitation & curiosity, I got the required courage to go on and read this….. I started inhaling thinking, “What’s the harm, after all, my heart will continue to have a greater say whether I follow this or not!!”

Well, not exactly!! The damage has been started lately, only to find that this article is rightly covered under magazine – “Beyond Limits”.

Comfort has never been on the other side of the journey as I can see now after reading this article. Loved the line - "
Embrace the discomfort... Find the courage to fail". If you have ever felt, in any tough journey, its either to negotiate with circumstances or get shelter in whatever little pieces of comfort in our own space. This illusive tiny creature “comfort”, I felt, shield us temporarily from reality, make us weak and somewhere down inside, develops a deep sense of fear and discourage. Inspite of that, this form of comfort is a lonely addiction because this is what kept us away from ruthlessness of life every now and then. To ask you, how many of us buy the fact of enduring the “discomfort” for living our dreams? Suddenly, comfort and reality seems opposite poles.

As Billy Graham quoted - “Comfort and prosperity have never enriched the world as much as adversity has.”, it reminds me of my mail signature -  "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So..... ". One of my friends Jayesh, always rationalize the need of feeling pain in gym by his favorite quotation:“No Pain, No gain..”.

And with these complementing words, the article left its footprints both in my heart and mind with questions – “Can you embrace discomfort with a joy to live the life you have imagined? Can you mark the year to stretch beyond the limits? Can you face any failure with required courage?"

"So, is it a beginning of the rainbow ???? A wake up call to claim my birth right?" I asked myself. Hummm.......…. "Embrace the discomfort... Find the courage to fail... Believe in self... Explore new limits, beyond the limits."

Slowly & gently, I begin to exhale now, with a new smile...............................................…

Failure vs Mistake - The idiotic inside me, banging the philosophy....

Found this interesting write up on Twitter yesterday and couldn’t stop reading it again and again. Well, the most simplistic & an unsophisticated  way to put one of the most talked topic: “Failure vs Mistakes”.

From

The difference between a failure and a mistake:
failure is a project that doesn't work, an initiative that teaches you something at the same time the outcome doesn't move you directly closer to your goal.
mistake is either a failure repeated, doing something for the second time when you should have known better, or a misguided attempt (because of carelessness, selfishness or hubris) that hindsight reminds you is worth avoiding.
We need a lot more failures, I think. Failures that don't kill us make us bolder, and teach us one more way that won't work, while opening the door to things that might.  School confuses us, so do bosses and families.

Go ahead, Fail... Try to avoid mistakes, though.

I am no philosopher, so end up giving it a serious thought and that’s where the trouble started.

Sipping juice, the left hemisphere of my brain starting arguing - "there's a thin line between Trying again and again, failure & mistakes”. The right one rejected saying, "Shut up... it’s very different like a Maggie tomato catch up!!"

Infact, sometimes, we don’t have a luxury to do mistake. Look at NASA's punch line - "Failure is not an option".

"But what is a failure?", asked a junior excited "Neuron" in my brain.

Well, its true, the toughest part is to define “Failure” in most events, followed by a deep reconciliation with self to unearth reasons for failure and the mother of all - to identify the transition from failure to mistake. In turn it means, the learning from failure comes way after you have traverse the ocean of thoughts and make out what the gorgeous special eligible thing which has turned the Failure into “Mistake”. Isn't an interesting journey of Failure to Mistake?  For me, another take away was – Always make new Mistakes...

Don’t worry.. I guess, it’s just the mesmerizing state of my mind due to over “thinking & multiple thought process occupation” in late hours of night yesterday… I can still see two tubes in my hall lightening up, “Alice in wonderland” playing on TV and my brain, eyes and heart on tuning on different threads!!!

"Failure is not an Option!!!"     Or may be an option Now………
